BICYCLING NEW ORLEANS, 2006
(The Lower Ninth Ward)
As with other of my bicycle videos (bicycle thing) I'm bicyclling for about 40 minutes through the New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward without holding the steering handle.
Filmed in Mid March 2006, nearly 7 months after the August 28th floodings of Hurrican Katrina, not much has been cleaned up or restored.
The streets are mostly empty and the distruction seemed to have occured only a few days ago. A quite surreal quiet landscape, a monument for US urban powerty, injustice, and govenment ignorance.
