IRAQ DIALOG WITH HIKMAT - page 1
(Hikmat prefers not to give his full name)
HIKMAT, born in Baghdad. living in Holland since 1998.
Hikmat worked as a teacher of physics. His brother was killed by Saddam Hussain's police in 1980, one month after the Iraq-Iran war started. He was suspected of religious activities and 3 audio tapes with religious content served as a reason. He was taken away and never returned. His son was just born a month earlier.
Hikmat's hobby is caligraphy but never was working as an artist. He was not trained as an artist.
This project is produced by CASCO, Utrecht, Holland for an exhibition by Rainer Ganahl- (opening: 6/21/03 - June, July, August- )
