BASIC CHINESE (Photographs), 2005
These Basic Chinese photographs are part of diffrent series of basic language photographs. (see here) In each case (with few exceptions) the texts are were taken from my study manuals - in this case a book printied in Bejing in the mid 1990s - which ads yet another little ambivalent aspect to this series of images taken in Hong Kong - since the main language is not Mandarin but Cantonese. My study manual which I am still using , is in Mandarin.
